A Game Born from Heartbreak

What started as a small sci-fi game jam project about saving the universe (and my bank account) from ending slowly morphed into something much more personal. Originally, I was just scavenging free assets off the internet to build a quick platformer. A distraction. A coping mechanism. A way to pretend I was totally fine post-breakup instead of actually dealing with it like a functional person. Then, somewhere along the way, it stopped being about making a game and became the game. Instead of moving on, I accidentally made a diary out of the very thing I was trying to forget, about someone who got the best and worst out of me. So now, it's a game about love, loss, and the struggle of getting over someone who still lingers in your memories. Where the person you want to leave behind is bound to you by a thread, pulling you back as you try to move forward. An experimental single player second person perspective platformer inspired by Getting Over It, where you control 2 characters bound by a thread, climbing their way to the top brushing through memories of love of a broken man.

A Solo Zero-Budget Project

Started broke, stayed broke. At first out of necessity, then out of commitment to the bit. This game was built entirely solo, using free assets scavenged from the internet like a digital raccoon. Why? Because when I started, my bank account was in the negatives, and paying for assets wasn't an option. But even when I could afford them later, I decided to keep it zero-budget as a challenge.
